Here for sale we have a lovely example of a usable Series 2a presented in poppy red with matching limestone station wagon roof and wheels. This is a nice tidy example of a Series 2a which runs and drives well. Recent mot history shows the vehicle as proved to be very reliable over the last couple of years. Covering 3,500 miles since 2014. There are invoices for parts that have been fitted to the vehicle. The diesel engine pulls well it does smoke on start up but improves once warm however this is normal for these old diesel engines.

On the inside, there are 3 deluxe seats, the drivers has a tear in the base and back but they suit the character of the vehicle however these can be replaced should the buyer wish. The front has the original land rover mats which are very hard to find. The dash is relatively standard and has a governor to increase the tickover. It also has a working heater which is very good as it is the bigger version than the circular smiths type.

Externally, as the photos show, this vehicle is very good. The paint work has it's imperfections but this is by no means a restored vehicle just an original user. There are various period features, which are original to the vehicle and add to the appeal - the vintage plates, deep sills. Later Series 3 mirrors have been added to improve visibility.

In summary, this is an attractive 2a. It is exempt from road tax and ready to be enjoyed for these late summer evenings.
