Land Rover Series 2a 88" Softop 1964 Nut & Bolt Restoration

We are delighted to offer this lovely example of a Series 2a. The vehicle was subject to a full nut and bolt restoration over a 20 month period. The vehicle has been rebuilt to original specification and a vast majority of original parts were reused and new old stock parts where sourced where required.

The vehicle was first registered for road use 10th August 1964.

The vehicle is in by far the most classic colour combination Bronze Green with matching wheels which is correct for this year with a new Khaki canvas.

The vehicle is in immaculate condition and drives very well. The vehicle has always been dry stored and has travelled very few dry miles since the restoration was completed.

The cappings and windscreen have been removed and re galvanised all the correct rivets have been used during the restoration showing the attention to detail.

The interior has benefited from the correct elephant hide seats.

All windows open, all the window channels are good since the vehicle has had a fully restoration.

The load area is exceptionally clean and doesn't show any sights of heavy use and is presented with a rubber mat. Matching rear bench seats can be fitted should the buyer request.

The vehicle has one of the best engine bays we have seen on a Series 2a, extremely clean.

The factory fitted engine busts into life at the turn of the key. It is apparent that this is a vehicle that has been maintained and covered low mileage it runs as quiet and smooth as any Series Land Rover that we have ever had.

A joy to drive and such fun, the vehicle will have a full 12-month MOT from the day of sale. Four wheel drive and low range engage, as they should. The gears change up and down as they should it has a very quiet gearbox which is a good sign of it's light use over the years. This vehicle will be supplied fully serviced including engine, filter, main gearbox, transfer box, overdrive, diffs and swivels.

The steering is as it should be and the vehicle doesn't wonder on the road like some series vehicles do. All the tyres have been replaced and are in very good condition. The gearbox has been rebuilt.

The vehicle has benefited from a new galvanised Richards chassis, so the vehicle is as clean underneath as on top any inspection is welcome.
