Land Rover Series 3 88" Soft Top Galvanised Chassis Nut & Bolt Restoration
On offer is a lovely example of a Series 3 88" which has been subject to a nut and bolt restoration including a galvanised chassis.
Refurbished to ‘bond spec’ – those of you with your ears to the ground will know that the new Bond movie ‘No Time to Die’ premiers in April 2020. Early clips released from the film & shoots show James Bond in a car chase driving a blue Series 3. These images were carefully analysed by the team, and recreated in this vehicle. The extended arches can be fitted should the buyer wish.
First Registered 21st September 1982 this lovely example is a late Series 3 complete with the later upgrades such as 11 inch front dual line brakes. 5 bearing crank engine.
It is in one of our favourite colour combinations Marine Blue with the Limestone Wheels.
The vehicle has always been dry stored and has travelled very few dry miles since the restoration was completed. We also have lots of documentation to support the rebuild.
The vehicle has also benefited from a high quality galvanised chassis which will ensure the vehicle is around for another 30 plus years.
The vehicle has undergone a thorough and comprehensive restoration, retaining as many original parts as possible. The rebuild has included the engine, gearbox and axles being overhauled. New brakes including wheel cylinders, brake pipes, shoes and drums. A new fuel tank, shock absorbers, new lights all round, new hoses, clips, door seals, mats, clutch, slave cylinder, master cylinder, new wiring loom, new servo, canvas hood, hood stick set and window channels. There is just too much to list. There has been no expense spared on this vehicle, if it needed replacing it has been and further improved. Nothing is required. Hundreds of hours have been spent on this restoration. The load area is exceptionally clean and doesn't show any sights of heavy use and is presented with a rubber mat and the bench seats .
A very beneficial extra that has been fitted is a fairey overdrive, which makes it a joy to drive on dual carriageways.
All the galvanising has been stripped and re done during the restoration the attention to detail is amazing.
As you would expect from a full restoration everything is in order, extremely clean with original stickers still in place. The original 2.25 engine runs very well and has plenty of power and starts straight up even on the coldest of mornings.
A joy to drive and such fun, the vehicle will be supplied with a 12-month MOT with no advisories. Four-wheel drive and low range engage, as they should. The gearbox has been overhauled by a specialist.
The vehicle will be fully serviced including engine, oil filter, main gearbox, transfer box, overdrive, diffs and the swivels.
You will have to go a long way to find a better vehicle and we believe this is the best restored Series 3 88" Soft Top on the market today. This is a fantastic example of a 38-year-old Series Land Rover.
