Based in Conwy, North Wales Williams Classics is a family run business specialising in the best original and restored classic Land Rovers on the market. Father and son team Mike and Miles Williams have many years of experience trading in both Land Rovers and in the more general classic car market. The family have strong connections to some of the best known restorers in the world and have an enviable Land Rover collection of their own.
Mike’s enthusiasm for Land Rovers goes back well over three decades. In 1983 he bought an MOT failure Series IIA from Heron, the local Land Rover dealers in St.Asaph. Following some recommissioning work, it returned to the road and the vehicle was used for many years, towing mobile displays for the business and a Fletcher speedboat for leisure. Inevitably corrosion set in and the vehicle became unroadworthy. When Miles started to develop a growing interest for Land Rovers early on in life, Mike decided to totally rebuild the IIA to concourse standards. This restoration became the catalyst to buy more classic Land Rovers and develop a company trading in the best vehicles for both enthusiasts and investors.
Mike has followed the classic car market for many years and has seen that in the past decade, interest in the classic leaf-spring Series Land Rover has grown exponentially. A good original or fully restored vehicle should be a cherished piece of British automotive history, beautiful to own, fun to drive and a strong future investment. The Land Rover brand has gone from strength to strength and with the end of Defender production in 2015, there is no better time to celebrate the company’s heritage than to buy from Williams Classics.
