Payments

At Williams Classics the most suited payment method is via bank transfer. We also accept PayPal as long as the buyer pays all fees associated. Cash is accepted, as are cheques and banker’s drafts however all forms of payment must have cleared before any vehicle leaves the premises.

We allow deposits to be left on vehicles this enables our customers to reserve the vehicle, which our customers often take full advantage of, as many of our vehicles are highly desirable and don’t remain on the market for very long.  The deposit is a non-refundable fee of 10% of the vehicles selling price and is valid for 7 days at which point the full balance must be settled and collection or delivery arranged.

Delivery

We can arrange door-to-door delivery to suit you and currently charge a competitive price of £2.00 per mile one way for all our models unless otherwise specified. We find that this option has always worked well for our customers and please be reassured that your vehicle will be fully insured whilst in transit and you will receive good communication as to when and where you vehicle is at any given time.

On occasions where the new home for the vehicle is hundreds of miles away we do recommend that the delivery option be strongly considered. Our reasons for this are that although our vehicles are thoroughly checked and prepared to a service standard they can still bring surprises. Some vehicles are over 70 years old, and in some cases have been stood for 40 years. After recommisioning an original vehicle, which has been standing for this period of time, we do endeavor to put as many miles on it prior to sale to ensure there are no intermittent faults. We have to bear in mind that when these vehicles were built reliability was far from the standard it is today.

What to expect

We highly recommend that any customers who are unfamiliar with the driving experience or maintenance involved in owning a classic come and view, try and talk to us and we can help find the right one for you. Whether your needs require the vehicle to have servo assisted brakes, power steering etc.

All our vehicles unless otherwise stated e.g. a restoration project come supplied with a full 12 months MOT as close to the sale date as possible. Any advisors noted on the MOT will be dealt with prior to delivery or collection and will be put right regardless of cost as Williams Classics prides itself in supplying the best quality classics on the market.

Warranty

Williams Classics Limited offers a 3 month in house warranty on all vehicles we sell that aren’t commission sales. A commission sale would be noted to the buyer prior to purchase.

This warranty covers all major mechanical failure to the vehicle including engine, gearbox, steering, axles, alternator and starter motor.

The warranty is conditional:

-The vehicle must be returned to our premises at the customer’s cost any items replaced or fitted will be done free of charge. It is then also the owner’s responsibility to arrange collection of the vehicle once the work is completed.

-We may, at our discretion, accept for repairs to be done locally however a written quote must be provided and agreed upon in writing before any work commences.

-The vehicle has to have been well looked after and maintained correctly during the customer’s ownership. We will give any necessary advice subject to purchase.

-We also reserve the right to offer the customer a refund for the vehicle prior to any work being undertaken if the repair is proving to be prohibitively expensive. It must however be returned in the same condition it was supplied in with the exception of the fault.

-The warranty does exclude any consumable parts such as tyres, fluids, brakes and clutches.

-We offer no compensation for the vehicle being out of use whilst it is being repaired or the inconvenience of such an event.

Why Williams Classics?

At Williams Classics we are a family run business specialising in the best original and restored Classics on the market. We have owned and restored Land Rovers for the last 35 years and have built up a private collection with a variety of Land Rovers from 1948-2020. Quality has always been a major priority to us and every vehicle that we advertise has to be detailed and prepared to the highest standard there is no in between.

We have followed the classic car market for many years and have seen that in the past decade, interest in the classic leaf-spring Series Land Rover has grown exponentially. A good original or fully restored vehicle should be a cherished piece of British automotive history, beautiful to own, fun to drive and a strong future investment. The Land Rover brand has gone from strength to strength and with the end of Defender production in 2016, there is no better time to celebrate the company’s heritage than to buy from Williams Classics.
