Land Rover Series 1 80" 1953 Project Barn Stored 40+ Years

First registered 25th September 1952. However this is a very early 1953 model year.

The last owner had this vehicle for over 25 years, during his ownership it has always been barn stored awaiting the day of recommissioning which unfotunatley never came, when he acquired the vehicle it had been off the road for 20 years. Therefore this car as always been stored away for the last 45 years. The mileage on the clock is 25,000 miles which although not warranted is believed to be true by the previous owner. This would make a fantastic restoration project and comes complete with the modern V5c and all other previous log books. The vehicle retains it's lovely original number BBG 670. The vehicle has spent most of it's life in Denbighshire in North Wales.

The original type of 1997 cc engine is still fitted to the vehicle. When the vehicle came into our care it had not run for many years however there is a possibility over the next few weeks that we will be able to try and get the vehicle running.

This vehicle is very correct for a 1953 model the correct side lights are in the wings, external pocket ripper door handles, wide front springs, 30/30 amp gauge still present, the dash is extremely unmolested and original, original lucas headlights, original seats, small choke, hand throttle, smiths heater, original lucas wiper motors. Rare green land rover badges, correct for the model. It comes complete with spare parts and other removed engine bay parts.

The vehicle is even fitted with very rare Dunlop Trakgrip RK3 Tyres, although showing signs of cracking it is still nice to see them fitted to a vehicle. The bulkhead will require restoration work but is most definitely salvageable, the chassis will also require some repairs but is far better than others that we have seen, especially given that the vehicle is now 65 years old. This vehicle in our opinion would recommission as a usable vehicle or would make a perfect donor vehicle for restoration.

There aren't many good honest projects come on the market let alone a vehicle that has been barn stored for 40 plus years.
