Land Rover Defender 90 50th Anniversary Edition 4.0 V8 Automatic

First registered 1st January 1999. This vehicle originally supplied to Japan.

50th Anniversary Edition

To celebrate 50 years of Land Rover, Land Rover produced 1071 Special Edition vehicles. 385 stayed in the UK, 451 went to Japan (with boost alloys and gloss black arches), Germany 180, France 25, Holland 20 and Belgium 10.

The Special Edition was essentially a NAS (North American Specification) station wagon. This meant it had a generous amount of extras as standard. Special paint colour known as Atlantis Blue and was powered by the 190 hp 4.0L V8 petrol engine, which was mated to a four-speed ZF automatic gearbox, both from the Range Rover. It also had air-conditioning, front cabin Safety Devices roll cage, each one came with a numbered commemorative plaque on the rear right hand side, making it a very rare and desirable product aimed at the wealthy lifestyle market.

This vehicle is Number 58 of 451. It only has 1 former keeper.

It has only covered 60,000 miles from new and came back from Japan in May 2016. The benefits of a Japanese example compared to a Uk vehicle are considerable. In Japan they do not use salt on the roads and therefore the chassis is remarkable and has had no welding, not been waxoyled. All the original factory paint is still in place. The body is also excellent with no aluminium corrosion. This vehicle is also fitted with electric windows.

The vehicle comes complete with it's original owners manual pack, service book, two sets of keys. It will be supplied with a full 12 months mot and will come fully serviced.

This is a very rare opportunity to acquire one of the best 50th Anniversary Editions on the market. Unique in such original un molested condition.

This is by far a must have collectors vehicle.

You will have to go a long way to find a better vehicle.

If you are an investor you will already known the growing importance of original un-messed with condition for classic cars. You will also know that Land Rover never used galvanised chassis for production of Series or Defender vehicles - so one that's been fitted with one cannot by any stretch claim to be original and un-messed with. If you are an enthusiast then you will not be disappointed with this vehicle as it is perfect in almost ever detail and is exactly as it left the factory 20 years ago.

VALUE

Low mileage, history, condition, and originality will contribute greatly to the value of any classic. Anybody can restore a Land Rover to a certain standard however you can't make anymore-original low mileage, low ownership vehicles and so for that reason these vehicles are becoming increasingly harder to find and so any opportunity to buy one shouldn't be missed.

We currently have two 50th Anniversary Editions for sale. Anybody is more than welcome to come, view, compare and test drive both examples.
